Should You Participate In Forums?
It used to be that you could discreetly build your reputation and market your business, services or products by participating in online forums using something called a “signature”. Lately though, it seems that many forums are not allowing participants to have signatures. Other forums are requiring you to have 25 or 50 posts to have a signature.
Obviously, it is a good thing to answer questions and participate with your industry peers and potential customers but I wonder if your contributions will help you in the long term. What do you think?
I think it is a very valuable way to develop relationships with others in your niche. You can also build your reputation so that others will recognize you and your website/blog in the future.
